Cannons-general rule
When playing a cannon the general rule is to hit the first ball with a thicker contact rather than a thinner one,for the latter could leave the cue ball in the middle of the two object balls and this is generally bad billiards, for it is more advantageous to have both balls in front of the cueball after the cannon is made.
